spring finally arrived after a few delays and a horrible winter.I've been working in the garden, some seeds are in but I don't think I will get many mangrels as I think I have some kind of ground burrowing critter. I've been working on a new cage system to grow the rabbit fryers in and it will be done by the weekend, so then the stinking poop machines will be outside where it will be much easier to clean up.The girls will be kept inside where they are better protected.We added to our rabbit collection by getting a mini rex doe, soon hope to add a buck.we currently have 17 fryers and future breeders growing out and 2 weeks ago had another litter of castor rex's born.Hopefully in another 2 weeks we will have 2 more new litters born.We have cornish x chicks in the rubbermaid shed with a little partridge rock, soon they will be moved outside to a small grow out pen. we have 2 dozen chicken eggs in the incubator and will be adding a dozen duck eggs next week.we also have a cubalya sitting on a nest of eggs and another mutt chicken laying eggs in above shed wer're thinking she's getting ready to go broody.the geese are taking turns laying on a brood of eggs and in 2 weeks we hope to have gooslings.and we have a silkie hen running around with a chick she hatched out a couple of weeks ago, a little bantam cochin, she is one proud mama.we have a baby goat that was born a month ago, she had a sister that died 24 hrs after birth, the bigger baby got all the vitamins and minerals, baby's were only 2 lbs at birth, small enough to fit in a large rabbit nest box.now baby is 10 lbs and cute as a button. jr is finnishing classes with the hope to graduated in June, amber is also trying but wether she makes it we'll see.things will getting more buesy as more building projects get started, hope to have the angora's sheered by end of week. and then we have to start thinking of fair.I picked stinging nettle and made tea,now I really am becomeing a swamp witch.LOL
